This paper describes the principle of the M.E.M. test (macrophage electrophoretic mobility). Human lymphocytes from normal or diseased patients, if exposed to an antigen to which they were sensitized may produce a factor which would reduce the electrophoretic mobility of a normal guinea pig peritoneal macrophage population. It is shown a summary of the applications of the test system and disadvantages of using P.E.C. and a summary of test system used for assessing slowing factors produced by lymphocyte-antigen reaction.
