Lymph node reactions were investigated over 90 days in mice following i.p. injection of amosite, anthophyllite or tremolite varieties of asbestos. The liver nodes and tracheobronchial group of lymph nodes exhibited varying densities of birefringent asbestos fibers at different intervals, which were transported through the agencies of abdominal lymphatics. The damage produced in the nodes consequent upon the lodgement of fibers was mild even on day 90 and asbestos body formation did not occur.
