All samples, taken throughout one year, of sewage from an industrial pig farm at Kolbacz, Poland, contained viable nematode eggs of up to 47 eggs/litre, most frequently Ascaris suum, more rarely Oesophagostomum dentatum. The infection of pigs was only 0 to 0.6% and 0 to 2.5%, respectively. The pig farm sewage, being spread on neighbouring fields, is a source of infection of the environment.
