Haemaphysalis concinna Koch, which infests a wide variety of wild and domestic animals in many countries of Europe and Asia and has been known to attack man, is recorded for the first time in Italy in July 1977, when 2 males were found in 2 different grassy places at sea level on an estate near Rome. Notes are given on the morphology of the collected mites and on the vegetation of the places of collection.
