Unusual cases of filariasis

Cases of filariasis in association with other unusual symptoms are reported. One patient had filariasis together with haematochyluria and another had filariasis plus aplastic anaemia, but neither responded to treatment with diethylcarbamazine. A 3rd patient had filariasis in association with fever and extreme bradycardia and responded well to diethylcarbamazine. The frequency of such associations with filariasis treatment are briefly reviewed.
