Both in the laboratory and in clinical trials in the Netherlands, a shampoo containing 1% malathion afforded complete control of infestations of Pediculus capitis Deg. on human hair. Two applications were made, with an interval of 7 days, and no active lice were observed on any of the patients 1 week after the second treatment.
