Aspergillus complications in hepatic coma

Observations on 3 patients who died with symptoms of hepatic coma and HBsAg positive virul hepatitis are presented. The disease in each case was associated with Aspergillus endocarditis, A. pneumonia and A. sepsis, respectively. Before death all patients were treated with high doses of glucocorticoids and broad-spectrum antibiotics. Diagnosis was established at autopsy only.
