Lyzozyme was isolated from A. lahorensis ticks by the method based on specific adsorption of the enzyme by chitin (poly-.beta.-1-4-N-acetylglucosamine). The yield of lyzozyme was 25-30 mg/100 ticks weighing .apprx. 15 g. Ion-exchange chromatography on Amberlite CG-50 revealed 1 protein peak possessing lyzozyme activity.
