Participant evaluations from sexual attitude reassessment (SAR) workshops showed: the vast majority enjoyed the workshops and found them personally and professionally beneficial; participants felt more comfortable regarding a variety of sexual behaviors after attending a SAR workshop; the able-bodied participants were generally more sexually active than disabled participants; more than half of all participants were not as sexually active as they would like, and the major reasons for sexual dissatisfaction were the same for able-bodied and disabled groups. The advantages of having the SAR programs within the hospital facilities were described along with several examples of the workshop's catalytic effect on the staff in developing new service and research activities in the area of sexuality.
