Distribution of sulfate-reducing bacteria was studied in soils of rice irrigation systems in the southern Ukraine. On the subsoil of rice irrigation systems with the level of ground water, close to the surface, sulfate-reducing bacteria develop very intensely, which may be 1 of the reasons of decreasing rice yield.
