Comparative determination of Australia antigen in the serum and in the leukocytes in viral hepatitis

The Australian antigen was more frequently revealed in the leukocytes than in the serum of patients with viral hepatitis. This difference was statistically significant in convalescents and in those who sustained the disease. The incidence of detection of the Australian antigen proved to depend on age and the severity of the disease.
