Relationship between the development of altitude-decompression disorders in man and barometric pressure levels during intensive physical exercise

General condition, cardiac activity, respiration rate, body and skin temperature, brain bioelectric activity, energy expenditure and working capacity were measured in humans subjected to high altitude conditions in an experimental chamber. Between 0.35-0.40 atm, the frequency and intensity of altitude decompression disorders sharply increased. The transition from 1 to 0.35 atm was considered dangerous.
