Middle-aged (45-59 yr) and older (60-73 yr) patients with the ischemic stage of coronary atherosclerosis were studied. Complex differential treatment (CO2 baths, nicotinic acid electrophoresis, group B vitamins, therapeutic exercise, massage) resulted in an improved condition and regulation of the metabolic shifts and function of the cardiovascular system, brain vessels and external respiration. This was confirmed by the ECG, myocardial contractility, rheoencephalography, external respiration indices and a number of lipid metabolism components. The treatment was more effective in the middle-aged patients.
