Early postnatal treatment with various neurotoxins may produced behavioral alterations which are manifested only during certain periods of development. Results are presented on locomotor activity following Pb or mirex administration which indicate that although these toxins produce similar changes in behavior they have marked differences in their time-course. The extended observation of locomotor activity over several days allows the investigator to distinguish between a reactive locomotion and spontaneous locomotion.
