Two cases of pseudomyxoma peritonei, 1 of appendiceal origin and the 2nd probably of ovarian origin are described, together with a short review of the pertinent literature. During surgery, both cases demonstrated an involvement of the retroperitoneal space and of the anterior abdominal wall. The findings are consistent with the low grade malignant potential of these lesions.
