The presence of translucent areas in radiographs of skulls of aboriginal patients is reported. The areas were not found in children and young adults but increased in frequency with increasing age. They appear to be produced by prominent depressions of pits due to arachnoid granulations. The reason for this prominence in aboriginal patients is not known but is presumed to be related to larger granulations and the thickness of the skulls of aboriginal people. Their clinical significance is the resemblance of the radiological changes in the skull to those of myelomatosis.
