A note on cutaneous larva migrans and its treatment with topical thiabendazole

Cutaneous larva migrans, its aetiology and its treatment are briefly described. A lotion (12 thiabendazole (Mintezol) tablets, 250 mg compound Tragacanth Powder, 2 ml glycerin, made up to 40 ml with distilled water) was applied to lesions (which must be completely covered) 6 times daily for 2 to 3 days, and thereafter 3 times daily for 2 weeks. 5 patients were so treated with rapid and complete success in all. 2 of the 5 previously had been treated unsuccessfully with both oral thiabendazole and ethyl chloride sprays.
