Onchocerciasis in Nigeria: observations on the geographical basis of the endemicity in Lagos

During 1975, 95 patients with onchocerciasis were treated at a dermatology clinic in Lagos, Nigeria. 69 of them were 15 to 39 years old. 21 patients came from Bendel State and 20 from Imo State. 2 patients had lived continuously in Lagos City and 3 others had lived mainly in Lagos State. It is suggested that there may be a focus of infection in Lagos.
