Nonsurgical management of nasal polyposis

Patients with benign recurrent nasal polyposis can be treated conservatively and satisfactorily by nonsurgical means. If the polyps are large and markedly obstructive, they can be shrunken rapidly and finally eradicated by repeated intrapolyp injections of a corticosteroid. If the polyps are relatively small and not too obstructive, they can be treated satisfactorily by medicinal means. All polyposis patients should have allergy studies and treatment to reduce the frequency or even prevent recurrences.
