Colic symptoms e.g. crouching and unsuccessful attempts to urinate with painful withholding were present. Examination of a midflow urine sample revealed large numbers of bladder epithelial and pus cells. Gram-negative, slender rods were isolated in pure culture and were biochemically identified as P. aeruginosa. Antibiotic sensitivities are recorded.
