Serum folate and red blood cell tests conducted on 25 women taking low doses of oral contraceptives (OCs) and 24 women controls in the same age group resulted in: 1) folate levels in OC users were generally in the same range as those of controls, and 2) the differences in results o btained with different types of contraceptives were insignificant.
