Dye-tests for toxoplasmosis were performed on 498 women post-partum at Sao Paulo, Brazil, and 372 (74.7%) were positive. The rate of positive reactions increased with age. From the age distribution and from various other data and assumptions, it is calculated that the incidence of congenital toxoplasmosis in 1970 was 16 per 1,000 live births, regardless of cllnical disease, and 5 per 1,000 for symptomatic congenital infection.
