1. Cyclohexylamine (CHA) and dicyclohexylamine (DCHA) are toxic when administered to experimental animals in various ways. 2. CHA produces CNS excitation and irritation of the visible mucous membranes. It is a weak methemoglobinforming substance with pronounced cumulative properties and is capable of producing chronic poisoning. 3. DCHA is a spas mogenic poison with a very narrow range of toxic effect and very slight cumulative properties. 4. CHA and DCHA have a marked local effect when applied to the skin (necrosis, ulcers, scars). 5. A maximum permissible concentration of 0.001 mg/liter is tentatively suggested for CHA vapors in factory air.
