Stereotaxic modification of the method for the precollicular section of the brain stem

In studying the hypothalamic-cortical connections using an isolated brain (cerveau isole), the precollicular section to separate the midbrain from the diencephalon must be highly accurate. The modification consisted of placing the stereotaxic apparatus holding the rabbit head at an angle with the creation of a plane of section perpendicular to the hemisphere of the apparatus. The modification can also be applied to other sections of the brain stem of rabbits.
