Discrepancies often encountered in cases of Glanzmann's thrombasthenia are detailed. Preincubation of unstirred platelet rich plasma with ADP (10-5 M) strongly inhibited ristocetin, but only slightly reduced bovine factor VIII-induced aggregation. Reasons for possible discrepancies with other results are discussed. The possible interference of steroidal contraceptive drugs is cited.
