The Nazi concept of a "life devoid of value" which led to the killing of the hopelessly crippled, deformed, and insane and which eventually led to the killing of 6 million Jews is evoked in answer to a writer who said abortion would be justified if the child had no hope of meaningful life or were not wanted. The author states that as social pressures become greater the list of social undesirables will grow and euthanasia will be part of it.
