A case of spontaneous perforation of an umbilical hernia, complicated postoperatively by an incarcerated inguinal hernia, both treated successfully is here reported. Early surgical intervention, postoperative prophylactic antibiotic, and adequate medical therapy should reduce the mortality rate. Elective repair is recommended when the patient's status warrants it.
