Laboratory contributions to human cytogenetics

Recent developments in human cytogenetics are examined from the standpoint of chromosome mapping and gene-enzyme cellular control. Chromosome ultrastructure, gene linkage and gene aberrations with their resulting physical anomalies are related by laboratory means. The methods are shown to be clinically useful in the areas of genetic counselling. Sex chromosome and autosomal disorders are discussed.
