An active multiplication of phage in the blood and organs was noted following, introduction of dysentery culture to mice after intravenous bacteriophage injection; its urinary excretion was low. The index of blood clearance from the phage, which was immaterial during the first hours, increased to the hundredth fractions of a unit in 48 hours. In 60-30 per cent of mice, immunized with dysentery culture or phage, infection was not accompanied with phage reproduction, whereas renal excretory function showed a marked rise and clearance index increased scores and thousands of times. In the immunized animals activation of phage reaction is relatively specific. The intensity of blood clearance from the phage independent of its blood concentration and diuresis, which points to the active participation of kidneys in phage excretion. The absence of any connection between the agglutinin titre and the index of blood clearance from the phage in the immunized animals points to the significance of individual physiological systems (particulary of the excretory one) in elimination of viruses from the body.
