The wholebody retention of an 59iron-sulphate-DL-serin combination (group B) was compared to that of 59iron-sulphate in healthy female volunteers. Mean 59Fe-retention of group B(n = 9) was found to be 40% higher than that of group A(n = 10); however, this difference was mathematically statistically not significant--especially because of the high standard deviation of group B.
