In Rhodesia, 2 groups of 55 patients, each consisting of 17 with ectopic pregnancies and 38 with severe salpingitis, were studied for parity, symptoms and clinical signs. Patients in one group were suffering from schistosomiasis of the Fallopian tube and those in the other were not. The findings in both groups were similar and a typical clinical picture for schistosomiasis was not found. It is concluded that schistosomiasis is not an important aetiological factor in ectopic pregnancy or in salpingitis.
