Hyperplastic tuberculosis affecting the intestine usually occurs in the cecum, ascending colon and ileum in more than 85 % of the cases. Tuberculosis of the duodenum and upper jejunum is very rare. It is stated to be 30 times less common than in the intestine. Crohn's disease of the duodenum, on the other hand, is now gaining more popularity and becoming more frequently diagnosed and dealt with. The case presented however, though thought to be at the lime of operation to be one of Crohn's disease proved by histopathological examination to be tuberculous.
