Frequency amplitude relationship of signals in isometric surface electromyograms

A method is described whereby an electromyographic (EMG) recording on paper can subsequently be quantified in such a way as to facilitate comparison with other recordings. Surface EMG were recorded from the trapezius, thoracis longus and sacrospinalis muscles of 4 female subjects. Photographic analysis showed that, for a given setting, repeated trials showed small differences in posture. After working for 10 min at a given setting, EMG records were made with a simultaneous set of photographs.
