Congenital leukaemia in neonate with Down's syndrome

An 11-day-old baby of Down's syndrome presented with jaundice, anaemia, hepatosplenomegaly and respiratory distress. The peripheral and bone marrow examination revealed plenty of blast cells, and a diagnosis of congenital leukaemia was done. Despite proper medical care the patient gradually deteriorated and died on day 9.
