Reflections on the role of family planning centers and their staff

A series of colloquia on family planning personnel and education centers are reported. The sessions, attended by center personnel and other professionals, produced the following recommendations: 1) sexuality is the province of physicians and other counseling personnel; 2) the key staff member is the counselor who first sees clients. Problems relating to finances, to physicians individual feelings on abortions, and to a national system of patients records have yet to be resolved.
