Basic data on the development of Czechoslovak agriculture from 1945 to 1973 are compared with the pre-war level. Information is presented on: the development of permanent employment in agriculture and average age; the number of experts working in agriculture; the development of basic means; the numbers of tractors and combine harvesters; the consumption of fertilizers (pure nutrients); the supplies of synthetic fertilizers; land improvement works and co-operatives in this field; gross agricultural and market production; the structure of sown areas; the per hectare yield of crops; crop sales; numbers of farm animals; the standard and efficiency of animal production; and the sale of livestock products.
