The article presents results of Holter ECG monitoring in patients with diabetes mellitus. The incidence of disturbances of the heart's rhythm in patients with diabetes mellitus is related to affection of the heart at the expense of a change in metabolic processes and development of coronary atherosclerosis. The onset of angina sine dolore is caused by the presence in patients with diabetes mellitus of autonomic vegetative neuropathy, their incidence being in direct proportion to the patients' age, duration of their illness, degree of metabolic disturbances, and microangiopathy.
