Of 60 patients with pulmonary symptoms and high absolute eosinophil counts, 49 responded to treatment with diethylcarbamazine and were diagnosed as cases of tropical pulmonary eosinophilia. Microfilariae were detected in night blood smears in one case only. The clinical and laboratory findings and the histology of lung biopsy material are described.
