A white-handed gibbon (Hylobates lar), one of a colony of gibbons kept in a laboratory in Thailand, died following an illness attributed to Strongyloides sp. infection. Autopsy also revealed the presence of 2 cestode cysts, identified as Cysticercus cellulosae, in the right cerebral hemisphere. The presence of these cysts had caused no inflammatory reaction and no clinical signs of central nervous system disease had been seen.
