There was a direct relationship between the dosage of oestradiol-17 beta (1-10 mu g/5 lb weight/day) and the life-span of the corpus luteum in intact and pseudopregnant hysterectomised rabbits. The hysterectomised rabbits were more sensitive to the action of the oestrogen.
