Of 55 people bitten by mosquitos, Chrysops, Simuliids, Triatomines, fleas or Tabanus who received hyposensitisation therapy, 49% experienced excellent results, 33% experienced good results, 9% experienced no improvement, and 2% experienced more severe allergic reactions on being bitten subsequently. Of the 23 stung by the imported fire ant [Solenopsis richeri Forel], 82% experienced good or excellent results.
