Six Dutch rabbits were offered the choice of 2 diets, with different pairs of diets for each week of test. There were 13 diet ingredients altogether. Wheat and barley were more palatable than maize, with a slight preference for barley over wheat. Soya or cottonseed oilmeals or X-pro, a lucerne protein concentrate, and casein were more acceptable than herring or meat meals. Maize oil 5% improved palatability but 20% was not well accepted, nor was cellulose 20%. More was eaten of the diets with sucrose or molasses.
