Despite its title, this review of equine respiratory diseases is confined to those of viral origin. The author believes that the primary causes of all respiratory diseases are viruses and that bacteria are only secondary. A useful table of the main diseases summarizes clinical signs, epidemiology, methods of detecting viruses and antibodies, and immunoprophylaxis.
