A 5-generation pedigree analysis of taillessness and associated defects in Manx cats indicated autosomal dominant inheritance for the Manx factor, with incomplete penetrance of locomotor abnormalities of the hindlimbs and fecal and urinary incontinence associated with the tail disorder. Two male Manx kittens were necropsied; both were affected with sacrococcygeal agenesis and syringomyelia of the lumbar spinal cord.
