Screening is an important tool for identifying older women's physical limitations and risk factors for chronic diseases. It enables Primary Care Physicians to offer early interventions that may include education, referrals and pharmacologic treatments. All recommendations discussed will provide not only better health to our elderly female patients but more importantly, will increase their quality of life, maintaining independence and avoiding institutionalization.
