Immune thrombocytopenia is an autoimmune disorder characterized by immunologic destruction of platelets. It may occur in isolation or in association with other health disorders. We describe a case were the pathology involved an immune mediated mechanism initially thought to be isolated and posteriorly linked to secondary causes.
