认知功能障碍是影响老年人生活最大的因素之一。认知功能受损造成老年人的日常生活自理能力下降，对我国老年人造成严重的社会、心理和经济负担。本文通过对大气污染与老年人认知障碍国内外的相关研究进展进行文献检索和回顾，探讨大气主要污染物（SO(2)、NO(2)、CO、PM(2.5)、PM(10)、黑炭）与老年人认知功能障碍的相关性。研究发现暴露于空气污染尤其是颗粒物的污染与老年人认知功能障碍存在一定关联，但这种相关性的存在还需要合理的生理机制支持，未来的研究也需要大量的纵向队列来加强大气污染与认知功能的因果关系论证。.
