The responsibility of pharmacists as medical experts is giving as broad information to their patients as possible to avoid the medicational problem that is endangering both the patient and the efficacy of the drug-treatment. In most cases, the medication error could be avoided by proper attention and co-operation with the patients and their doctors. We need to determine those factors, which have to be eliminated to decrease the side-effects and interactions; consequently to improve the patients' adherence with the therapy. We carried out a survey in public pharmacies among patients with type II diabetes, who take oral antidiabetics containing metformin as an active agent. Our aim was to get such data from their answers, to identify the patient groups of high risk and reducing the risk of medication errors.
