Immediate and late results of application of mechanical prosthesis of the aortal valve in Ukraine

The immediate and late results of implantation of mechanical and biological aortal valve prosthesis in men and women aged 60-75 years old, were analyzed. The immediate results witness the state improvement in all the patients, not depending on the implanted valve kind and concurrent diagnosis. While existing general tendency of improvement, in the women population cohort the trustworthy changes in cardiac release fraction were absent. This phenomenon did not influence the patients quality of life in a middle-term perspective. The follow-up results (from 1 year 1 mo up to 10 years 5 mo) also witnesses the absence of essential difference in results of the aortal valve prosthesis using mechanical or biological prosthesis.
