What has caused one of the most natural acts on earth--breastfeeding--to be seen as something that needs to be done in a toilet away from the public view? Is the fear of being told to move when breastfeeding in public a real fear or is it exaggerated to fulfil other purposes? This article examines the issues of breastfeeding in public places, the fear surrounding this, how such fear has arisen and how practical and effective support can be offered to mothers.
